God is great

jeff & i had a meeting with the pastor at the church that is right by our apartment this morning. it went really great. he talked with us about what we were looking for as far as a church goes. & he learned a little about our background. he told us about some of the great programs that they offer there that would be great for jeff & i. we closed our meeting with an uplifting prayer. i am so excited and ready to start OUR journey through Christ. as a child, i grew up in a Methodist church. i always attended church alone - my family isn't real religious but i always wanted to be. so i attended church with my childhood best friend and was very involved. then, some bad things happened in my life & i went down a few crooked paths and decided i was too "good" for God...how dumb was i? oh well, we all go through stages, i guess. anyway - since jeff & i are planning on getting married next year, we decided as a couple that we want to get right with God again. lord knows we both need his love and guidance more than ever right now. i am just glad he is there to hold my hand through it all :) i was tellin my best friend ash that i really feel like this is what we need to get our relationship back on track where it belongs. we are going to go to our first service on sunday morning. i am so excited! :) also, CRAZY thing...the pastor of the church is totally related to my mom's side of the family (the Runion's). he showed me the family tree on ancestery.com and we are totally related (far down the line, but it is still SO cool)...i think it's totally a calling from God! well, in a nutshell, i just am so ready to get this journey started :)
